What can I say about this monster of a tune from Kode 5? Its definitely back to 92/93 time with this dark raver, a fascinating and unique combination of breaks and Gabber style kick drums accompanied but twisted hoovers and techno like pads. I feel this would have found favour with the likes of Clarkee and Carl Cox back in the day and the familiar 'Bass' vox from Defender's 'Feel It' makes it all the more infectious. Once it gets inside your head, you won't be able to get it out, a quality slice of NuSkool, get purchasing!!!!

 

Mystery and Disrupta-Shined Off

More breakbeat hardcore goodness from Disrupta, Mystery and www.badhabit.org.uk. In keeping with their previous 2 releases, this is a tune that draws it's influence from the early happy hardcore sound pioneered by Slipmatt,DJ Red Alert and Mike Slammer and Krome and Time to name a few. There's elements of house with a nice vocal, little snippets of Terrorize' 'Its Just A Feeling' along with some nice scratch samples and plenty of bass. Mystery,Kosine,Disrupta and Sonic Fixation-Totally Underground E.P Bad Habit Muzik

Bad Habit Muzik continues to deliver as a first class, diverse imprint offering the best underground sounds around.This 3 track E.P musically takes a journey back to circa 93/94' at the period before the split between hardcore and jungle. Disrupta and Sonic Fixation's track has a vibe similar to Krome and Time's mid 90's productions under their 'Higher Level' alias. As I write this post it is currently No 1 in the trackitdown breaks chart, the other 2 tracks, '20cc VIP' and 'Giving It All I Got' are slightly slower in tempo at 155bpm approx and fit into the circa late 92/early 93 proto happy hardcore sound favoured by imprints such as Slammin' Vinyl and Strictly Underground,both are uplifting and euphoric and for those like myself, who loved that era, Its nice to hear this style becoming popular again along with the current strain of 140 beats and slightly faster CLSM style breakbeat hardcore sound. It seems 2012 is the year of the breakbeat. Another great E.P from the Bad Habit Muzik crew.
