Schoco-This Is Love E.P-Digital Acetate

If you want to see how healthy any particular genre of music is, you judge it by the releases that are coming out, producers and labels. Since launching in 2012, Digital Acetate has been gold, the releases have been stunning and you can find the cream of the future jungle producers here too. Schoco is on fire right now and rightly so, I've had the pleasure of playing his damn fine tunage for approx 2 years now and it really does just get better all the time.

On to this fantastic E.P featuring 3 tracks and 3 remixes of those tracks:

1.'All I Want' opens with a wonderful UKG/House meets 140 style intro, very familiar vocal, you'll know it when you hear it, lovely organ stabs take us into the drop before introducing some spine tingling pads, key changes are first class, tune is amazing.

2.'All I Want (Visible Sound Remix) takes the already great original and adds in a great skippy VS style beat and some fresh pads while retaining the key elements of the original, as a remix, its on a par with the original without a doubt and sells the whole E.P for me

3.'I Need You' is Schoco in his true ethereal style, the sounds build gently and slowly and send you into a trance, the melodys are haunting and will stick in your head.

4.'I Need You (Time Travel's Deeper Love remix) is Time Travel at his best with lovely switches between a skippy break and the classic funky drummer, melodic late night vibes are the order of the day here, sheer quality

5.'You And Me' is just mind blowing, kicking off with an intro and a drop that's almost 3min long, the pads are classic 93 intelligent jungle through and through, you have to hear how good this really is.

6.You And Me (Aitch's VIP Treatment) gives this quality, stunning track a nice rolling feel, adds in plenty of sub bass and like the original, lets the sounds breathe and build

So the bottom line is go and spend some money on this top notch release, have a listen to the clips below, get prepared to be blown away and have your wallet to hand and indulge yourself in some of the finest 140/future jungle around....

Visible Sound - Therapy Sessions Volume 1-Digital Acetate

Visible Sound has pulled out all the stops for a really classy 4 tracker on his own Digital Acetate, well received by all and undoubtedly the label's finest hour to date, a hefty feat in itself when a string of such high quality EPs have preceded this.

I'll take you track by track so you know exactly just why you need this,  first up is....

Warrior's Way has a warm, subtle intro with soulful South Asian vocal snippets that build into a magnificent drop, the main part of the track features deep low bass over emotive, spatial pads

Darkest Waters takes us back to the minimal mid 90's sound of Alex Reece and other similar DnB producers of the time, late night hypnotic beats punctuated by heavy subs, subtle, but ever so slightly menacing

Serene Awakening is my personal favourite, it's that wonderful piano lead and the way the drums slowly filter in for some superb 144bpm Jazz n Bass, a classic blissful sunshine drenched VS Production

Inner Fears carrys on with the South/East Asian influenced soundscapes with a looping Sitar over some tough skippy drums and the Asian vox that continue to build and build for a tough driving roller with haunting melodys

If you haven't already, check out the clips above and go and get a copy of this absolutely essential release

Sixfootunda-Lost In Dreams LP-Boomsha

Boomsha recs continue to up the ante, this time with a full 10 track album from San Diego original junglist, Sixfootunda featuring remixes from Visible Sound, Bay B Kane, DJ Aitch & Strange Rollers.

Kicking off with the opening ‘Someone was looking for you’, a classic jungle roller at 140bpm sampling from one of my favourite films, ‘The Shining’, this is a bass fuelled monster!!!!

Visible Sound takes the opener down a melodic route with added female vox, flutes and super phat amens for an intelligent rinse out.

Then we have one of my favourite tracks from the album ‘That’s what I do’ with it’s eerie jazz like pads and gangster vox sounding like Lou Reed turned junglist or a junglist Tarantino soundtrack, seriously, this is sick!!!! BBK maintains the dark vibes on remix duties, going down a more minimalist 2 stepping route building into bass heavy amen rolling wickedness.

Another fave is ‘Low level frequencies’ with dark menacing gangster flick style pads, heavy subs as per the track title and loads of great bleepy bits, DJ Aitch gives this banger his own unique old skool style jungle re rub.

‘War is in the dance’ at 150bpm has a 94’ vibe to it with sirens, atmospheric pads and ragga vox, get your lighters out for this bad boy, the Strange Rollers remix is tight, emphasising the bongos and adding in dark, spooky pads for a killer re rub.

‘This is a kill’ is a nice melodic future jungle workout with uplifting, intelligent pads, still keeping the beats n’ bass phat and heavy though.

We finish with ‘The conscious mind’ with pads reminiscent of the early Metalheadz era, a voice repeatedly tells us of strange sub conscious experiences, intersped with huge subs and junglistic vox with some nice bleeps.

This is a great album, essential for all future junglists, taking all the best elements of 20 years of the sound and putting it together in 10 dope tracks, you have been formally introduced to the O.G Sixfootunda, we fully expect you will be coming back for more of those sick beats!!!!

Visible Sound-Down With U-Bad Habit Muzik

Quality summery vibes from VS and the Bad Habit fam, great piano hook and sweet vocals over skippy 140 beats makes for an early future jungle anthem for 2013, I'll leave the last words for trackitdown though who are clearly digging this bad boy of a tune, here's what they have to say: 'I WAS BORN TO BE DOWN WITH THIS! Big up this label crew for helping push the future jungle scene. Killer production and sick vocal hook. RECOMMENDED.' Otter - Take it Back-Digital Acetate

Otter brings the sun drenched sounds of California to Digital Acetate with 2 great tunes 'Take It Back' & 'Sounds Of Time', great chilled 140 sounds, punctuated with Sax's and warm, summery pads. Visible Sound takes 'Take It back' down a more minimal route with nice chopped up beats while Ryo rewrites 'Sounds Of Time' into a D.A.R.K as you like Metalheadz influenced 140 techstep monster!!!!!

Visible Sound-The Elements E.P -Q.P.A Out Now

Visible Sound has just dropped a fresh new 4 tracker on Quantum Progression Audio. 'Jazz In The Breeze' kicks off with saxs and booming sub bass, sweeping ambient melodys keeping with the producer's well known fondness for L.T.J Bukem's work. 'Summer Daze' is light and Summery with a shimmering piano melody while my personal favourite, 'Teardrops On Earth' goes down a 1992 influenced route with a nice simple rolling amen and a Top Buzz circa 92' style melody, one for the Fantazia crew. Dan Bright Lights reworks 'Teardrops On Earth' into an uptempo filtered number with hints of Techno and a huge bassline underpinning the track. Another big release from Q.P.A and the immensely talented Visible Sound.

INSA 241- All I ever Wanted, forthcoming on Digital Acetate

A taste of things to come on Visible Sound's new Digital Acetate label, Insa 241 has made a tune deserving of greatness, a sublime intro and haunting vocal starts thing off and builds slowly into the main section of the tune with a lovely rolling bassline, the whole track has a mid 90's Drum and bass feel to it, I couldn't help but be reminded of Goldie's mid 90's work but at a half speed tempo of 140bpm, its evident that Digital Acetate is shaping up to be an outlet of some of the finest sounds that the 140 scene has to offer.
