Scott Garcia-Its A London Thing 2012(Billy Daniel Bunter And Sanxion Remix)
I have very fond memories of this UKG classic, many a late night was spent cranking up the speakers so my neighbours could hear the heavy sub bass on this banger!!! Now re released for 2012 on Ice Cream records, the label that also brought us Double 99's 'Ripgroove' (Now that would be a great track for a 2012 Future Jungle re rub, hmmmmm). Along with the original mix, the highlight of this package has to be Bunter and Sanxion's remix which builds nicely with all the original elements of the tune, the organs, that infectious vocal before an old skool style drop appears and all manner of bass driven chaos lets loose!!!! The production duo with the Midas touch have done it again. Summer has officially begun with this Summer anthem for 2012.

INSA 241-All I Ever wanted Out \\\\now on Digital Acetetate with Bay B Kane Remix
Out today, exclusively on trackitdown, its almost impossible not to draw comparisons with Goldie's 'Inner City Life' or a number of other tracks by Goldie from the mid 90's era, this is lush, piano driven and with a sweet, warm vocal, after a amzing intro, the track kicks into a nice rolling breakbeat with a deep sub bassline. On the flipside, Jungle legend, Bay B Kane takes the track down a minimal, deep, yearning and soulful route. I can see this quickly climbing into the top ten breaks releases in trackitdown as it has widespread appeal to DJs and listeners of various genres.

"You're immediately confronted with this 140bpm jungle vibe! Loving the keys up top, they add a lot to the build-up of this track. Loving the delay on all the elements except the keys; giving them a proper role in this intro. Loving how the trumpet comes in to give it an extra vibey spin. The drop is dope, warm and thick low-end – which is nicely flowing underneath. The percussion is something I’m really feeling, sounding nice and breaky with great variations all around, well played! Nice progression towards the first break, all the elements are evolving and then suddenly there's a really low baseline involved! Great breaky build-up towards the second drop, really amazing! Everything stays in key through a nice use of chords... Impressive. Slowly you hear elements disappear and sometimes return, but the main element that stays present is the keys – a well chosen lead!

Mystery,Kosine,Disrupta and Sonic Fixation-Totally Underground E.P Bad Habit Muzik
Bad Habit Muzik continues to deliver as a first class, diverse imprint offering the best underground sounds around.This 3 track E.P musically takes a journey back to circa 93/94' at the period before the split between hardcore and jungle. Disrupta and Sonic Fixation's track has a vibe similar to Krome and Time's mid 90's productions under their 'Higher Level' alias. As I write this post it is currently No 1 in the trackitdown breaks chart, the other 2 tracks, '20cc VIP' and 'Giving It All I Got' are slightly slower in tempo at 155bpm approx and fit into the circa late 92/early 93 proto happy hardcore sound favoured by imprints such as Slammin' Vinyl and Strictly Underground,both are uplifting and euphoric and for those like myself, who loved that era, Its nice to hear this style becoming popular again along with the current strain of 140 beats and slightly faster CLSM style breakbeat hardcore sound. It seems 2012 is the year of the breakbeat. Another great E.P from the Bad Habit Muzik crew.
