Following his debut EP last year, and a remix on Ground Level Record's PlayGround compilation, they welcome back Sasha Khan to Ground Level with his Storm Chasers EP.

A triumphant mix of the schools of old and new this EP features three tracks all in the 140BPM Nu-Jungle category. Title track Storm Chasers mixes rave pianos, solid scratches and heavy beats to massive effect. This is followed up by Raw Energy, a track which starts with an eerie piano riff before descending into an assault of Amens and dark bass riffs. Finishing the EP is Strictly Hardcore, a rave inspired belter with more than a nod to the old school!

Following on from one of the most successful releases on Top Drawer Digital, namely the 'So Fast, So Serious EP' with Bojcot Selectah, Pressa is back with a fresh new EP for TDD. Now, this writer here is a huge fan of Pressa's work, he is undoubtedly one of the standout producers of this scene and when you you hear one of his tracks, you instantly know his signature sound. Ever since hearing a track called 'Fantasia' by Pressa back in 2011 and subsequently his releases on TDD, Hardcore Lives & Warehouse wax such as 'Out Tear', 'Lazers', 'Be With Me' and my favourite, his remix of Vinyl Junkie & Dope's 'Forbidden Zone' I have been suitably impressed by this man's amazing production skills and ability to make a killer tune each and every time!

Now this new EP is out and trust me, you are in for a treat, 'Killa Soundboy' is the dancefloor weapon that will causing serious damage wherever it gets played with its great screechy pads and futuristic melodys. 'Mind Blown' has those lovely summery sounds that remind me of 'Out Tear', quality deep vibes. 'Rollin' Out' is my pick from this excellent EP, its those Detroit Techno like stabs that really get me, the production is just fantastic throughout the 3 tunes, producers and beat makers will really appreciate the drum work here, in my opinion, this has to be one of the best 140 Jungle releases of 2013.

Mr Beatselector-Wailing Banshee EP-Boomsha Recordings

We have been really impressed by Mr Beatselector's Jungle tunes for quite a while now including a great track on 'Theoretical Science Vol One' on Audio Theory Records a few months back. He takes the tempo down for 2 excellent future jungle rollers on Boomsha, 'Jungle Flute' & 'Wailing Banshee', both have the timeless 94/95 jungle sound and feel to them. DJ Aitch makes a welcome return to work some more of his magic on 'Wailing Banshee' and if like me, you are partial to a bit of DnB then the hidden gem here is Cryogenics' remix of 'Wailing Banshee', a deep, roaring, uncaged lion of a techy DnB track which can be summed up in one word for me as can this release, awesome!!!!

We then have the melodic house influenced 'Before Tomorrow', a track that conjures up the 90s vibe perfectly. Bad Habit Muzik return from a busy summer of representing the Future Jungle sound at venues such as Pure Science and across the pond over in the states with a new EP by Strangenotes-‘Interpretations In Dub’ ,A 4 track EP of dub reggae infused future jungle. ‘Bastards Know’ samples David Rodigan and features a glorious organ lick throughout the tune while ‘Keep The Bar Bizzy’ gets funky with a classic break and a lovely bassline, ‘The Cut’ goes deep with a large vocal sample and some stripped down minimal bass n beats, then we have the rather cheeky and equally awesome ‘I Don’t know’ which takes a very well-known dancehall classic, vocals and baseline and quite literally re interprets it into a future jungle masterpiece.
